1898 International Sporting Club $f 5 Chips, Red & Blue These are quite rare and some of the oldest casino chips around! International Sporting Club opened 1898 in Monte Carlo and thrived until the world wide depression of 1929. In 1898 the 5 Red Chips were weakly struck on one side, with the 5 denomination being barely visible to invisible. Although used for some time at the Casino, the Red Chips were soon corrected when the Blue Chips came out with the 5 denomination boldly rendered on one side. The other side has the Casino's initials, ISC in the original antique, Victorian style lettering of the time. Apparently, these are more scarce and popular than we thought, as we have sold several sets for $99 in AU/UNC and for $55 in XF/AU. We have been fortunate to obtain the remaining known examples from a retiring chip dealer, and have a few hundred sets of the best examples to offer. What few sets have been offered on eBay and Yahoo have sold on eBay from $50 to $100 per set over the years. These should easily resell in the $50 to $75 range in XF and $75 to $100 in AU/Unc, so this is a great opportunity to acquire the finest examples for your collection/inventory or to have some for later resell and double or triple your profits. All of our casino chips are from a retiring dealer whose specialty was locating or building up exclusive hoards. Thus, most of these are either hard to find elsewhere or are now available only from us. |

Features a Black & White Wild Horse on Both Sides Only $29 each!! Grade: Uncirculated, Perfect Mint State. 10 or more, Take 20% off..................20 or more, Take 30% off. 100 or more, Take 40% off.......................300 or more, Take 50% off. 500 or more, Take 60% off...........................1,000 or more, Take 70% off. 2,000 Limit, Take 80% off - that's almost face value at only $5.80 per chip!! (Orders of 100 and more come in the original old chip boxes of 100 chips per box). The Silver Palace in Cripple Creek, Colorado was only open for a little over two years, from June 1992 to September of 1994. It seems the small population of this town couldn't support a big Casino, and the $5 chip was the only denomination ever issued there. The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide has it listed at $60 in almost uncirculated grade (95) and the Colorado Chip & Token Guide, authored by noted expert Ralph Mancinelli, has an official price published at $100. It is estimated that 5,000 were made, but only about 40% survived in perfect condition such as the ones we offer here. Apparently, these are more scarce and popular than the books indicate, as the dealer we got this exclusive supply from sold a couple to other dealers for $125 each and some have sold on eBay for as much as $150. These should easily resell in the $50 to $75 range, so this is a great opportunity to acquire the finest examples for your collection/inventory or to have some for later resell and triple or quadruple your profits.
